Barbara Claussen, Co-Owner

Barbara was born in 1966 on a little German island in the North Sea on the Danish border. In 1992 she earned her MBA , specializing in Marketing. For 6 years Barbara worked with Engel & Voelkers in Berlin Germany, an affiliate of Sotheby's International Realty, specializing in Commercial Real Estate and Real Estate Development.

She visited Nova Scotia in 1996 and fell in love with it and her future husband and business partner Tony Walters. They share the company and their lives very successfully. Since 1998 Barbara has owned real estate on the South Shore, renovated five older homes and won the Restoration Award for 2001 from the Town of Lunenburg.

Her hobbies include renovating old houses, all animals and nature. She has been learning horsemanship for years, is a certified Centered Riding Instructor, and is running with Tony, next to her busy work schedule, a farm with rescue animals. 5 cats, 4 dogs, 6 horses and 3 donkeys are calling Whinney Hill Farm their sanctuary.  She supports the local Animal Shelter (SHAID) and animal rights organizations.
