Lisa Buchanan, Support Staff
Lisa, a fisherman's daughter, grew up in North East Harbor, Shelburne County. She spent much of her childhood exploring the beach, and collecting rocks and seashells. She loves anything to do with the water including hand-lining, back-seat sailing, kayaking, or just enjoying the sound and smell of the ocean.and thinks that the view of a full moon over a calm ocean is one of the most intoxicating and rejuvenating pleasures life can offer.
In the year 2002, after the death of her mother and some soul searching, she ended her 15 -year career as a Lab Technologist and decided to go back to school. In June 2004, she graduated with honors from the Business Administration course at NSCC Shelburne Campus, also proudly receiving the Governor General's Medal and the NSCC President's Award. She worked at the Osprey Arts Centre in Shelburne for nearly a year as Business Coordinator and then Assistant General Manager, learning the skills for producing and directing which she enjoys very much, and honing her organizational talent. In May 2005, Lisa joined Claussen Walters in Shelburne as a support staff member.
In her spare time, Lisa enjoys family time, sewing/quilting, reading, singing, and learning to play guitar and mandolin. She has been a member of several bands as a vocalist, and has also acted in several local productions. Her pet project is a production called Harmony Bazaar, which showcases local women's musical talents.
Lisa lives in Shelburne with her husband, Chett, her 13 year-old son, Alex, and a very "lovable old dog" named Tipper.
