Born in Malta, raised in the U.K. Wendy took the plunge and emigrated to Canada in 1973 to join her husband-to-be, Alec. They discovered Lunenburg in 1974, and a new way of life began.
Wendy set out to become part of the community by matching unemployed young people with local employers so that they could gain work experience; and then served for 15 years on the Board of Fishermens Memorial Hospital and other health care organizations.
In 1980, this city girl found herself living on a farm in Rhodes Corner where they live to this day. Along the way, Wendy fell in love with... a GOAT! Other goats followed, along with horses, an elderly donkey, dogs, cats and bees. Now this really was a lifestyle change!
Being an enterprising person, Wendy formed her own company in 1981, researching land titles for property transactions. The company has just celebrated 27 years of reliable service to law firms along the South Shore.
Legislation changes and computerization will eventually make title-searching obsolete, hence Wendy is putting her knowledge of the area to good use by entering the world of real estate. It blends well with her love of restoring older homes and envisaging what can be achieved.
